ABOUT
Hi! I am Ivan. I am a Taiwanese student studying in Biomedical Science at The Chinese University of Hong Kong. The two most important things in my life are photography and music. I consider them to be the approaches to know people, cultures, stories in our daily life. After discovering myself for few years, I realized I am not a scientific person. And I accidentally came across the field I would like to devoted to — user experience design. As a science student, I keep adjusting my mindset with design thinking and learning some subjects related to user experience design like service design. Currently, I am pursuing opportunities to acquire more professional knowledge of user experience design in the both academic and industrial aspect.
3 FACTS ABOUT ME
I consider myself...
COOPERATIVE
As the leader of the HSNU team in iGEM competition, which is a bioengineering competition held by MIT, I realized the importance of how to play a good member in a team and how to deal with interpersonal relationship properly.
SELF-INITIATED
I like to take the first step in both my academics and daily life. As I am pursuing a user experience (UX) career currently, I manage my spare time learning UX-related knowledge myself. With this proactive attitude, I am always open to the challenges in my studies and daily life.
OPEN-MINDED
I reckon myself a multidisciplinary person, which helps me stay open-minded all the time. By cooperating with people from diverse background, I realized the importance of being open-minded. Listening and respecting others' ideas make me learn lots of knowledge from different field and establish lots of network with people.
UX GALLERY
I only had one real-world project with a biotech start-up so far and I am looking for more opportunities to gain experiences. Below are the project and exercise I did.
BIOTECH START-UP WEBSITE REDESIGN
I redesigned the website for a biotech start-up that I collaborated with during the summer program at Keck Graduate Institute in the United States. I have addressed several pain points of their current website and created this prototype as the redesigned website in order to provide a clear call-to-action, brand image, navigation, and contact channels for customer engagement.
FINANCIAL APP EXERCISE

This is a self-initiative exercise to practice the upcoming prototype software, Figma. I also addressed some pain points in the current financial apps and combined the financial record function with the fast payment system into one application.
